Sympathy: Former Letterkenny councillor, PJ Blake, has extended his sympathy to the Blaney family on the recent death of former North West Dail Deputy, Harry Blaney. “Harry Blaney was a most capable and respected politician who served the people he represented extremely well, both as a councillor and a TD. May he rest in peace,” Mr Blake commented.

Eucharistic Adoration in Killybegs: A number of events will be held over the coming months to celebrate 25 years of Eucharistic Adoration in Killybegs. Since it started in 1988, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has taken place in the parish for 30 hours every week, from 6pm on Sundays continuously until midnight on Mondays. Describing the practice as “a remarkable testimony to the faith of the people”, parish priest, Fr Colm Ó Gallchóir, announced at the weekend that events to mark the silver jubilee will begin on Corpus Christi, Thursday, May 30th, at 7pm when a Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated with a special ritual of remembrance for deceased members, followed by refreshments in the Parish Office.
